Clean & Safe
Certification Program
The COVID pandemic changed life dramatically for every senior living community. CALA members have demonstrated excellence by providing the highest level of service to ensure the health and safety of residents and staff throughout this unprecedented time. CALA is honored to be leading the way for Connecticut’s senior living providers as we work together to overcome challenges and find new ways to bring solutions and joy to the hearts of those we serve.
CALA facilitated a network for mutual support and, as part of that effort, developed the CALA Clean & Safe Certification program which recognizes communities that are meeting and adhering to Clean & Safe guidelines for Cleaning Protocols, Organization, Staff, and Resident Considerations.
In January 2021, the Connecticut Assisted Living Association launched it’s new CALA Clean & Safe Certified accreditation. The certification program is an opportunity for senior living providers to attest to adherence to the latest health guidelines and therefore gain recognition by CALA. CALA believes that the CALA Clean & Safe Certified program restores trust and instills confidence for families, residents, and consumers that the state association has created an expectation that providers will adhere to the latest guidance in the four categories mentioned on the checklist. This helps providers conduct a self check relative to their existing practices and policies. This helps strengthen CALA’s brand while also bringing safety to others.
Certified organizations will be featured on both CALA’s website and CALA’s ENewsletter. They will also receive a window decal, certificate, and digital graphics to be provided for use in marketing. CALA Clean & Safe Certified is free for current CALA members. If you or your community are interested in becoming CALA Clean & Safe Certified, you can download the certification checklist below.
