Kelly Papa, MSN, RN is Corporate Director of Learning at Masonicare. She has researched, published and presented on topics including building learning organizations, creativity in staff development, person-centered care, dementia care, leading change and leadership development. In 2013 Kelly chaired the Workforce Development Committee for the State of CT Task Force on AD and Dementia.
Pamela Atwood, MA, CDP, CADDCT, CLL is a gerontologist and Certified Dementia Practitioner. She is Director of Dementia Care Services at Hebrew HealthCare in West Hartford and founder of Aging Care Academy. She loves teaching, laughing, learning and finding ways for individuals and families to live better with dementia. She is a certified Dementia Practitioner, a Dementia Capable Care Provider and a (seriously) Certified Laughter Leader.
Carolyn DeRocco is Vice President of Programs and Education at the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter. She is a member of the WCAAA advisory council and a member of the Connecticut Geriatric Society. She has over 20 years’ experience as a Therapeutic Recreation Director and a support group leader working with individuals diagnosed with dementia and their caregivers.
Erica DeFrancesco, MS, OTR/L is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Occupational Therapy at Quinnipiac University. Her areas of expertise include geriatrics and mental health. She consults with local nursing homes to improve care provided to individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias.
Donna Fedus, MA is a gerontologist and founder of Borrow My Glasses® which focuses on “Aging and Caregiving from a New Perspective.” With a Master’s degree in Social Gerontology from the University of Pennsylvania and a passion for dementia care, Donna has worked with and on behalf of older adults for 25 years as a gerontologist, trainer, community educator, organizational consultant, program developer and caregiver coach.
Kerry Mills, MPA, is the founder and president of Engaging Alzheimer’s LLC. She has had many opportunities to share her expertise and vision here in the U.S. as well as in Canada, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and China. She co-authored I Care – A Handbook for Care Partners of People with Dementia and most recently authored Serving Residents with Dementia: Transformative Care Strategies for Assisted Living Providers.
Henry Schneiderman, MD is the Palliative Care Physician Champion at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. He has practiced and taught geriatrics since 1990, on a background of anatomic pathology and internal medicine. He has also taught seminars in poetry and in literature and medicine, often in tandem with his wife, to medical students, nursing home residents, and pharmacists among others.
Ronald Schwartz, MD, FACP, is Medical Director at Masonicare Health Center and Director of Hospice and Palliative Care Services for Masonicare. Board-certified in internal medicine, geriatric medicine, and hospice and palliative care medicine, he joined Masonicare in 1995.
Geri Taylor, MPH, RN is a member of the 2016 Alzheimer’s Association National Early-Stage Advisory Group. She is a Registered Nurse with a Master’s in Public Health and 45 years’ working experience as a public health nurse, hospital executive and published researcher. Geri was featured in the New York Times cover story this past May titled Fraying at the Edges.
