New Benchmark Senior Living associate blends compassion and experience to facilitate smooth transitions for families.
Crescent Point at Niantic, a Benchmark Senior Living community in Niantic, Conn., is pleased to welcome Colette Emery as director of community relations.
Emery has worked in aging and senior living for more than 20 years. She began her career at the University of Connecticut Geriatric Assessment Center followed by 13 years at two regional senior living communities.
“Colette brings a great wealth of experience to Crescent Point at Niantic,” says Shaun Mastroianni, senior executive director for the community, which offers independent living, assisted living and Alzheimer’s care. “Her personality is unforgettable for the seniors and professionals she advises. Crescent Point is excited to have such a kind and compassionate leader on our team.”
Navigating transition in aging is one of Emery’s specialties after helping hundreds of families in the last 22 years with all levels of care. She is experienced in finding resources for families and the best situation for their loved ones.
“I understand the complexities in transition from a personal level after dealing with aging parents and the loss of my mom over 20 years ago,” Emery says. “The care here at Benchmark far surpasses most senior living communities; we help put families more at ease when making hard decisions for their loved ones.”
Emery says she is thrilled to join Crescent Point at Niantic and contribute to the sense of community. “Crescent Point has a very loving and family feeling when you come in.”
A welcoming staff and engaged residents contribute to the warm environment at Crescent Point at Niantic. The seaside location of the community in downtown Niantic enhances residents’ lives as well. As director of community relations, Emery’s role is to ensure that all residents experience enjoyment and make meaningful social connections.
No stranger to the region, Emery has lived in the area for 22 years and currently resides in Waterford, Conn., with her son, a student at Waterford High School.
